Canal Suez Authority head, Mohab Mamish announced that 197 Ships weighing 10.8 million tons crossed through the canal in the last four days, Youm7 News reported Friday. Mamish pointed out that 99 ships weighing 4.7 million tons have crossed through the north of the canal, adding that 98 ships weighing 6.1 million tons have crossed through the south. The largest ship crossed the canal from the north was the Danish "MARSTAL MAERSK" container ship coming from Netherlands, heading to Singapore weighing 200 thousand tons, while the largest ship to cross from the south was the Maltese "AL DAHNA" container ship weighing also 200 thousand tons.
