Egyptian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Ahmed Abou Zeid said the ministry is following up the case of the 16 Egyptian immigrants who were allegedly killed on Wednesday by human smuggling intermediaries according to media reports, Al-Bawaba News reported. Abou Zeid affirmed that the ministry communicates with the Egyptian embassy in Tripoli, working in Cairo due to the deteriorated security status, which contacted local forensic medicine to identify the bodies to be handed later to their families. "The ministry is following up the case and will announce the developments," Abou Zeid added, signaling to ministry's continuous warnings of illegal immigration.
