Israeli police imposed on Wednesday several restrictions on the entry and exit of Palestinians to and from al-Issawiya, a town on the northern outskirts of Jerusalem. Local sources told WAFA that Israeli policemen set up checkpoints at the entrances to the town, where Palestinian drivers and passengers were asked by the police to undergo thorough inspection while entering or getting out of the area. This came only one day after clashes erupted between Israeli policemen, who stormed the town, and Palestinian youths, where more than 17 youths were reportedly injured by rubber-coated steel bullets, and dozens others suffocated due to the excessive use of teargas used by the police.
