Egypt warned Friday that excluding the Kurds from Syrian peace talks is a "fatal mistake", reiterating support of Syria's independency and unity of its territories, Egyptian foreign ministry said.
Since the start of the ongoing negotiation, Cairo has stressed the importance of Kurds' participation in these talks as a main part of the Syrian society, and warned against the dangers of their exclusion, Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman Ahmad Abu Ali told reporters.
Syrian Kurds have proclaimed their aspiration to establish a federal system in Syria that secures the independency of their territories, he said, adding that any talks tackling other issues than Syria's independency and unity should be held under the UN supervision.
