Former MP Tawfik Okasha filed Saturday an appeal at the Cassation Court against the Egyptian Parliament decision to drop his membership of the House of Representatives, Al-Bawaba News reported. Okasha's lawyer, Hala Othman said that the procedures adopted by the parliament have been illegal. "We trust the Egyptian judiciary which holds the sole sovereign power over all national institutes," Othman added. The Egyptian Parliament has voted to drop the membership of Okasha with a two-third majority of the House of Representatives, 397 deputies, over hosting Israeli Ambassador at his Home. The controversial TV host Okasha had dinner in February with the Israeli ambassador in Egypt and discussed some politics issues, which enraged Egyptian parliamentarians.
