Egypt's High Elections Committee (HEC) called on candidates planning to run the by-election for the empty parliamentary seat of MP Tawfik Okasha, whose membership was dropped recently, to register their documents and set the by-election date for April, AL-Bawaba News reported Saturday. HEC's spokesperson, Omar Marwan said that candidacy requests would be submitted from 8 to 19 March, pointing out that the polls will open doors for voting in Talkha constituency on 16 and 17 April. "HEC has received the Parliament Speaker's notification that Okasha has been expelled," Marwan said.
