Published in Albawaba on 01 - 03 - 2016

Resuming direct flights between Egypt and Tokyo is extremely important to encourage Japanese businessmen to redirect their investments to Egypt again, Head of General Authority for Investment (GAFI) Alaa Omar stated Monday.
Omar added that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's current visit to Japan will participate in boosting the delegations of Japanese businessmen to Egypt within the upcoming period.
The chairman made these remarks on the sidelines of his visit to Japan to attend the 2nd Japanese-African forum for promoting investment that is set to be held from 29 February to 4 March 2016 in Tokyo.
Omar is also set to take part in Egypt-Japan Business Council which is set to be held on March 2, 2016 on the sidelines of Sisi's visit that started this week.GAFI's Omar and the Egyptian Ambassador to Japan Ismail Khairat have discussed the importance and means of overcoming the obstacles that face Japanese investors in Egypt notably the hard currency crisis as pursuant to the rise in dollar price.
Recently, Japanese investments target Egyptian automotive services sector which is the same one that GAFI aims to attract more investments to, Omar said.
