Chairman of the Egyptian-Japanese Business Council, Ibrahim el-Araby told Youm7 News that the tenth annual meeting of the council will be held on March 2, on the sidelines of the Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's visit, Youm7 reported Sunday. The meeting will tackle ways to increase trade exchange volume between the two countries and ways to overcome the obstacles facing investors from both countries. The trade exchange between Egypt and Japan has seen a decline during 2015 by 17% reaching $1.4 billion compared to 2014 which reached $ 1.7 billion, while the Egyptian exports to the Japanese market has declined in 2015 by almost 49% reaching $150 million, compared to $293 million during 2014, according to Japanese customs. El-Araby had attributed the decline to liquefied natural gas and petroleum products, although Egypt had witnessed an increase of 35% from non-oil Egyptian exports.
