Minister of electricity, Mohamed Shaker said Sunday in a statement to Youm7 News that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's upcoming visit to Japan may witness signing of a large number of renewable energy agreements with Japanese side. Shaker explained that both sides have agreed so far on six memorandums of understanding in the field of transport, distribution and renewable energy. He pointed out that al-Sisi may sign a memorandum of understanding with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency, to establish a plant to generate electricity from solar energy with a capacity of 20 MW, in addition to a power plant from coal with a capacity ranging between 2,000 to 4,000 MW, in cooperation with Orascom. The minister stressed that there are three memorandums of understanding in the field of electricity has been agreed on with the Japanese side.
