Aida Seif Al-Dawla, director of El-Nadim Center for the Psychological Rehabilitation of Victims of Violence, published on Thursday a photo copy of the official decision issued by the Ministry of Health to close down the center. El-Nadim, the only organization in Egypt to provide treatment and rehabilitative services to survivors of torture, received on Wednesday two security personnel and a representative of Azbakia Medical department in the Health Affairs Office of Cairo. They had a closure order accusing the El-Nadim Center of violating provisions of the Law on Medical Establishments, which licenses the activities of clinics in medical institutions. Seif Al-Dawla said the center had been given until Monday to close but had vowed to defy the order.
