Sudan's Minister of Information Ahmed Belal Ottoman rebuked what he described as attempts to raise tensions over Halayib and Shalateen issue, Youm7 reported on Tuesday. He added, in a statement, that one third of Egypt's High Dam exists in the Sudanese territories, saying, "We immigrated a number of our citizens from this area to ensure Egypt's water security. Such cooperation should be witnessed in Halayib and Shalateen." He praised the current relations between Egypt and Sudan, stressing the two countries have no disputes during the current period. He signaled to the consecutive meetings between President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and his Sudanese counterpart Omar Hassn Al Bashir, saying that such meetings undermine any attempts to raise tensions between the two countries.
