Sudan's President Omar Hassan Al Bashir rebuked Egypt's media channel and newspapers, blaming them for the current problems between the two countries, Youm7 reported. The Sudanese president stressed, in an interview with Sky News channel that the Egyptian media adopted a provocative approach in dealing with the parliamentary elections in Halayib, prompting the Sudanese government to take serious steps to defend the Sudanse rights. He praised the bilateral relations between the two countries, stressing that his country is keen to deal with any Egyptian government whether to be related to Muslim Brotherhood, National Democratic Party or the current government of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi. Regarding Ethiopia's Renaissance Dam, Bashir said, "We considered the issue seriously and found that it provides us with more advantages than Egypt." He acknowledged, "If the dam was destructed, Khartoum would be drowned. We have not joined an alliance with Ethiopia against Egypt but we attempt to perform the role of mediator to ensure the rights of all parties."
