Court resume Waly's re-trial in Bayadeya case

Giza Criminal Court resume the re-trial of former Agriculture Minister, Yousef Waly in the case of selling the nature reserve of ‘Bayadeya Island' in Luxor province to Fugitive businessman Hussein Salem and his son, Al-Bawaba News reported Sunday.
The case dates back to 2002 when Waly sold ‘Bayadeya Island' with an area of 36 acres to the fugitive businessman, Hussein Salem, wasting more than EGP 700 million of public money.
The defense called for a delay to provide documents regarding the actions taken by the Ministers Council.
For his part, Ashraf Mokhtar, the civil prosecutor of the State Litigation Authority confirmed that the state is stuck to claim civilly to save the state's right to return the land.
