Egyptian army killed 28 militants and wounded dozens in North Sinai's Rafah and Al-Arish cities, Al-Bawaba News reported Friday. The army had launched several raids and airstrikes targeting a terrorist cell that was planning to attack a number of military sites in Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah, killing 28 militants as well as destroying three vehicles and motorcycles. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against terrorist groups in Sinai after they claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
