Egyptian army and police killed Tuesday 55 militants and arrested 35 others in North Sinai during the 9th day of Martyr's Right operation that was launched last week against terrorist groups, Al Bawaba News reported. The army also destroyed six vehicles, five motorcycles, 30 terrorists' hideouts, as well as defusing 41 improvised explosive devices planted by terrorists on North Sinai's Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid cities. It added that two soldiers were killed and 12 others were wounded during clashes between the army and militants. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against terrorist groups in Sinai after they claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
