Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar denied that the ministry is tapping the phones of public figures or politicians, Youm7 news reported Sunday. In an interview aired on state TV channel late Saturday, the minister said Egypt is facing a sweeping wave of terrorism, however, conditions in Sinai Peninsula has improved, according to Abdel Ghaffar. On the other hand, assistant interior minister al-Sayed Gad el-Haq denied inspecting citizens' apartments without prosecution's permission. Security apparatuses are taking exceptional security measures preceding the commemoration of January 25 revolution.
