The Court of Cassation overturned the life and death sentences against Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders on Monday, in the incidents of Guidance Bureau incidents case that took place in 2013, al-Masry al-Youm news reported. The court ordered the defendants, including the Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie and his deputy Khairat al-Shater, a retrial. In past February, the Cairo Criminal Court sentenced 14 MB leaders to life in prison, and sentenced 4 others to death. Prosecution had accused the defendants of committing murders inciting violence, possessing unlicensed weapons, joining militant group and rioting. Incidents took place in front of the Guidance Bureau in Mokattam, following the uprising of June 30, 2013 which ousted the former President Mohamed Morsi. Incidents led to the death of 12 persons and injury of 91 others.
