Egypt will receive Friday its non-permanent seat in Security Council for North Africa, in which it will remain for next two years, Youm7 News reported. Egypt's permanent envoy to the United Nations, Ambassador Amr Abu Atta will begin attending the meetings of the member states. Egypt received 179 votes out of 191 votes to be selected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for two years, starting from 2016. In 2015, Egypt was selected for the chairmanship of the Counter-Terrorism Committee of the UN Security Council, in a unanimous number of votes by the member states.
