The Cairo Cassation Court cancelled the 5-year prison sentences handed to 19 students in Al-Azhar University over riots-related charges in the case publicly known as "Al-Azhar Sheikhdom incidents" following the disperse of Raba'a sit-in in Aug.2013, Al-Bawaba News reported Saturday. The defendants were accused of inciting riots, road blocking and sabotage. During investigation, the defendants denied all the charges explaining that they held a peaceful protest when some rogue elements infiltrated among them causing the riots.
