Minister of culture, Helmy Al Namnam commemorated Tuesday the anniversary of Saint Catherine martyrdom in South Sinai's Saint Catherine city, Al Bawaba News reported. The anniversary ceremony was attended by South Sinai governor Khaled Fouda and the governorate's security director, Magdy mousa as well as a number of intellectuals, artists and religious clerics. Saint Catherine was born in 194 in Alexandria, being tortured by Roman Emperor Maximinus Thrax for her faith in Christianity.
