The Egyptian Writers Conference's 30th session entitled "Towards an active cultural institution" headed by Dr. Sayed Khatab, was launched Sunday evening in Aswan governorate, launching its first session Monday morning at Aswan's Culture Palace, Al-Bawaba News reported Monday. The session holds the name of the late novelist Dr. Radwa Ashour, with the participation of several Egyptian, Arab and African writers as well as Nobel Prize winners. The opening session honored several public figures topped by the journalist Zeinab Afifi, and the late author Ibtihal Salem, writer Badr Abdel Azim, and the poet Safaa al-Bailey. The conference is scheduled to last for 4 days, in which it will hold 8 sessions, 5 workshops, 13 cultural seminars 13, 12 poetry evenings and 4 short stories' readings.
