The winners of the biannual Sultan Bin Ali Al-Owais Award 2010-2011, announced on Sunday, include Egyptian novelist Radwa Ashour for fiction, Lebanese poet Mohammad Ali Shamsuddin for poetry, and the Palestinian writer Faisal Darraj for literary criticism. The biannual prize is administered by the UAE'sSultan Bin Al-Owais Cultural Foundation. Theaward has gone to many of the finest Arab writers and the prize is significant - $600,000 to be divided among the winners.
