Egyptian army killed Tuesday Wilayat Sinai terrorist group leader in North Sinai's Sheikh Zuewid city, Al Bawaba News reported. The terrorist group leader clashed with the forces when he was trying to plant improvised explosive devices against army personnel, but the army succeeded to kill him. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel. In 2014, the group announced its allegiance to Islamic State (IS) jihadist group.
