A meeting was held between President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and chairmen of major publishing houses and technological firms, involved in cognitive sciences and encyclopedias through the international information network. It was a huge symbolic gesture to revitalize a national demand of empowering youth through offering the opportunity of positive and constructive participation in building their country. It is to be acclaimed what Al-Sisi has done, as he highlighted the real issue which is the vulnerable education level and lack of awareness towards topics concerned with culture and religious speech, both of which are considered reasons of extremism and terrorism. He also asserted that all religions call for higher values and prohibits harm in all forms; physically and morally. The president's definitive words came in the light of many starting points, first of which is finding a positive energy to direct and contain the youth's energy, away from the horrific trifecta; ignorance, terrorism and addiction. These words represent great importance by taking steps towards actually turning them into a reality, through launching national projects to solve the unemployment issue, and offer a model of a good citizen who has the best of interest of his country at heart. Comes in next as an importance to such message sent out by the president, is the importance of opening channels for dialogue with the youth and directing their energies towards participating in the whole process, instead of turning into a time bomb blowing in everybody's face. Therefore, we should not be throwing shattered glass of accusations for these young people that are considered the backbone and corner stone for developing any community and must not be hasty in disposing them as part of the society. That lays a huge responsibility on Prime Minister Sharif Ismail's cabinet or whomever taking his place, by the urging need to set executive programs to interpret the president's ideas into working steps towards the future to employ the youth's energy, but first they need to be heard, acknowledged and shielded from taken the blame. To be fair, we should not entirely blame the government, but to unite in efforts to reach such purpose where it's worth mentioning the national initiatives like the one I launched a year back – "Weladha Sanadha". It calls for setting up a knowledge bank to provide cognitive sciences and wide-range encyclopedias, to help develop a community that would "learn, think and innovate". This is when the role of Secretary General of the specialized councils of the Presidency and President of the Council Specialist for Education and Scientific Research, Tarek Shawki comes in to enact his role in the advisory board of the education system before our youth turn deaf. Any progress will not be without the contribution of Egyptian youth, who can express creative opinions. This requires us to believe in the importance of the youth's participation by allowing them initially to join the political leadership to be decision makers and leaders themselves through practicing the political work. The fact that the youth are the future leaders implies that they should not rise up away from the real life if we expect them to succeed in facing challenges. They need to be invited along though irregularly to the cabinet and governorates' meetings and to be able to see for themselves the decision making, even without involvement in the voting process. They also need to be heard, discussed and taught all the clarifications needed through passing on expertise. This practical role is the basis to empower our youth through learning, acknowledgment and experience.
