Israeli forces early Wednesday detained eight Palestinians from the Hebron area in the occupied West Bank, locals said. Local sources told Ma'an that two Palestinians were detained from Bani Naim village east Hebron after Israeli forces raided their homes. The detainees were identified as Saleh Muhammad Mousa Ejdee and Mutasem Ibrahim Ejdee. Israeli troops also ransacked the house of Ahmad abu Saqout, locals added. Four Palestinians were detained from al-Dahriya north Hebron, identified as Nasser Mousa Hawarin, Nasser Ali Samamra, Muhammad Khalil Abu Allan, and Mahmoud Issa Awredat. Israeli forces also detained Yasser Abdul-Rahman Muhammad Masalmah and Ghassan Mahoumd Abdu-Aziz al-Switi from Beit Awwa. In the Hebron-area town of Beit Ummar, Israeli forces ransacked several homes including those belonging to Sami Hassan Mansour Sabarnah and Ahmad Hammad Ihmedan abu Maria, Muhammad Ayyad Awad, spokesman of a local popular committee said. An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma'an that five Palestinians were detained from the Hebron area overnight, including one suspected being a "Hamas operative." Four others were suspected for "illegal activity," the spokesperson added. Israeli forces carry out routine night raids throughout occupied Palestinian territory, and detained nearly 1,200 Palestinians in the month of October alone, according to prisoners' rights group Addameer.
