British ambassador in Cairo, John Casson revealed Saturday in a press conference held at the embassy, that his country's investments in Egypt might increasing during President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's visit to Britain, Al-Watan News reported. Casson pointed out that the increase of investments is more linked to the economic situation in Egypt, clarifying that conducting the parliamentary elections is a good step in the right direction. He said: "President al-Sisi is a guest of Britain and we honor our guests, as Britain is an open country and everyone has the right to express his or her opinion. As such, there are demonstrations in London every day, but they will not snatch the spotlight to focus on the strategic interests between Egypt and Britain." The ambassador stressed that Britain is a country ruled by law and the British police is ready to provide the necessary protection for the delegation accompanying the president. However, on the expected differences between Egypt and Britain during Al Sisi's visit, he said: "There a British interest in seeing how Egypt transform from the current stability to lasting stability in the long run and the application of freedoms in the Egyptian constitution." Casson described the president's timing of the visit to his country as "perfect timing" and that the visit holds a strategic opportunity, which should be taken advantage of. He stressed that Britain's cooperation with Egypt is based on a consistent strategy and London wants Egypt to overcome terrorism, confirming that Egypt has a right to defend itself and its borders, as well as obtain weapons in the framework of the international law. The ambassador added: "I met with the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Mahmoud Hijazi during a visit to London and there are more military cooperation between the two countries."
