Cairo Criminal Court will try Saturday 213 defendants allegedly affiliated with Ansar Bayt Al-Maqdis group over terror-related charges, Al-Bawaba News reported. The defendants face charges of committing 54 terror-related crimes, including attempting to kill former Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim, and bombing several security headquarters across the middle eastern country. The Sinai-based group had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) in 2014, and carried out deadly attacks against police and army personnel.
