Egypt's Higher Election Committee (HEC) said in a press conference Wednesday columnist and TV host Abdel Rehim Ali officially won parliamentary elections at Dokki and Agouza constituency, al-Bawaba News reported. "Four candidates from a total of 2548 candidates won the first phase of elections without need to run for the runoff round including Abdel Rehim Ali, Mohamed Hamad Desouky from Assuit constituency, Mohamed al-Basha from Dairout constituency and Gamal Adam from al-Jarj constituency," HEC said in a statement.
