Lawyer Mohamed Hany Abdel Meguid filed a lawsuit before the State Council's Administrative Court demanding the halt of upcoming Parliamentary elections and to suspend the High Elections Committee (HEC) decision to open nomination requests, Al Bawaba News reported Monday. The lawsuit claimed that HEC decision about dividing electoral districts law is unconstitutional as it considered Dokki and Agouza circles as one circle. It added that the two circles take three seats in parliament but after the new law they will take only two seats, pointing out that decision not respect voters' rights according to their geographical distribution.
