Israeli forces stormed a gas station in the northern occupied West Bank village of Bartaa southwest of Jenin early on Sunday morning and confiscated several computers, a local official told Ma'an. Head of the Bartaa municipal council, Ghassan Qabaha, told Ma'an that Israeli troops raided the gas station at 2 a.m. Qabaha added that Israeli forces had also raided the village the day before and blocked the village's entrances from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. An Israeli army spokesperson did not immediately respond for comment. Separately, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian resident of Jaba village near Jenin on Saturday evening from his workplace in Nazareth. Local sources identified the detainee as Husni Said Khaliliya. On Saturday, undercover Israeli forces shot and injured a young Palestinian man in Bartaa and detained four, locals said. At the time, Qabaha, told Ma'an that clashes erupted overnight between Israeli troops and young Palestinian men at the southern entrance to the village. A young man sustained minor injuries before the undercover officers detained four others from the vehicle. Israeli authorities have orchestrated mass detention raids in Palestinian towns throughout the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem following fatal attacks on four Israelis on Oct.1 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday announced plans for Israeli police to go "deeply into Arab neighborhoods, which has not been done before." The campaigns are a part of alleged efforts by Israeli authorities to "deescalate" current tensions in the area, measures that Palestinian ambassador to the UN, Riyad Mansour, referred to Wednesday as "repression and collective punishment."
