The Afghan interior ministry said that at least 20 militants of the ISIS Takfiri terrorist group were killed in clashes with the Afghan army in Achin District of Eastern Nangarhar province. The ministry said that the clashes erupted during security operations in Abdulkhil area of Achin District on Saturday night, Khaama press reported. Since the last five days, the ISIS terrorists have suffered heavy casualties in Achin District. They carried out two large-scale coordinated attacks on a number of security posts in this district which were rebuffed by security forces. Local officials say more than 200 militants have been killed and as many wounded during the past five days. Achin which shares border with Pakistan is one of the restive districts of Nangarhar province. Haji Ghalib Mujahid, the district's governor said if Achin falls to militants they can pose threat to Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of Nangarhar province.
