Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Wednesday with the U.N.'s special envoy to Libya, the Spanish diplomat Bernardino Leon at the U.N. headquarters in New York over the Libyan crisis, Foreign Ministry stated Thursday. In an official statement, foreign ministry spokesperson, Ahmed Abu Zeid said the meeting focused on the ways to reach a final compromise between the conflicted Libyan factions which would lead to the formation of a national government that includes all political powers. Leon is willing to invite the Libyan factions for negotiations on Oct. 2 to discuss forming a national government, the statement read. Shoukry praised the exerted efforts of the Leon, stressing on excluding the factions that refuse to join the negotiations, the statement added.
