Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Song Aiguo expressed his country's keenness to develop its strategic ties with Cairo over the long term as both countries share strong historic relations, state-run news agency (MENA) reported Wednesday. The ambassador's statement came during his speech in the 66th anniversary of the founding of China in the attendance of senior political figures from diferent foreign missions in Egypt. Aiguo praised the leading role of Egypt in the region and its government's efforts to develop relations with world countries, indicating that the Egyptian army was the only Arab and African representative in China's celebrations of the 70th memory of the triumph in World War II. President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi visited China in August as a part of an Asian tour, to increase Chinese investments in Egypt. The visit led to the signing of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement and a cooperation deal that will boost production capacity.
