CAIRO: The Chinese Embassy in Cairo on celebrated the 55th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations with Egypt on Wednesday. The celebration coincides with the 62nd anniversary of establishing the People's Republic of China. Chinese ambassador to Egypt Song Aiguo highlighted the depth of relations between Egypt and China, which have lasted for more than five decades. China seeks increasing cooperation with the new Egyptian administration after the country's January 25 Revolution. The celebration was attended by Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Mahmoud el-Essawi, who stressed the industrial and commercial cooperation between Cairo and Beijing. Certain foreign ambassadors, including the ambassadors of Japan, the Ivory Coast, and Indonesia, as well as the Iranian Chargé d'affaires, also attended the celebration.
