Egypt's Suez Canal witnessed the crossing of 69 ships weighing 3.8 million tons on Tuesday, said Suez Canal Authority's Spokesperson Tarek Hassanein. Hassanein pointed out, in a statement published on Al Bawaba News, that 36 ships weighing 1.7 million tons have crossed through the north of the canal, while 33 ships weighing two million and 100 thousand tons have crossed through the south side. He added that the largest ship, which crossed through the canal, is the Danish container ship ‘STELLE MAERSK' weighing 171 thousand tons, coming from Belgium and heading to Saudi Arabia.
