A number of political parties asked President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to reshuffle the High Electoral Committee's (HEC) members, Al-Bawaba News reported Sunday. Leader of the Egyptian Front coalition, Magdi Allam said in a statement to Al-Bawaba that the coalition alongside with a number of parties will formally ask the president in a memorandum to reshuffle the HEC. Allam explained that this move, which comes a few days ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections, is a result of appeals made by the HEC against the Administrative Court's rulings that accepted the papers of a number of disqualified candidates. He stressed that the step is considered by political forces as an infringement of the terms of reference assigned to the HEC and favoring of one faction at the expense of the other.
