A number of hopeful parliamentary candidates and political parties threatened to withdraw from the elections race after the High Election Committee's (HEC) decision to cancel previous medical reports issued in February, Al-Bawaba News reported Wednesday. Both electoral alliances of "Revival of Egypt" and "Call of Egypt" as well as other candidates running for individual seats in parliament announced that they are considering the withdrawal decision, as HEC's aforementioned decision would add a heavy financial burden on them. HEC, under Counselor Ayman Abbas, announced that it will receive only the new medical reports on September 13, 14 and 15, citing Administrative Court's ruling by abolition the HEC's decision to validate the medical reports, which were previously issued for the parliamentary candidates once scheduled in March.
