Egyptian army killed Friday seven Wilayat Sinai terrorist group militants in Sheikh Zuwaid, North Sinai, Al Bawaba News reported. The army had launched several raids targeting the militants who were planning to launch a terrorist attack in Arish city, killing seven militants as well as destroying a vehicle and a motorcycle. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel. In 2014, the group announced its allegiance to Islamic State (IS) jihadist group.
