Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Ahmed Abu Zeid said Friday that the report published by U.S. CNN network about the security situation in Egypt includes false information and lacks objectivity, Al Bawaba News reported. Abu Zeid pointed out that the report claimed that chaos and terrorism spread in Egypt due to the absence of state's authorities especially after the rumors on the death of a Croatian hostage in Egypt, adding that the report is far from objectivity, professionalism and honesty. He stressed that the areas where terrorist operations were launched in Sinai do not exceed 5% of the Sinai Peninsula, confirming that foreign tourists enjoyed all forms of security and safety in Sinai's tourist resorts. The spokesperson said that terrorism is a global phenomenon that Egypt fights, pointing out that Western media must support the Egyptian efforts against terrorism. Abu Zeid added that CNN chose to shed light on the victim instead of the perpetrators in this very sensitive time when Egypt is fighting against terrorism.
