Egypt's Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met Thursday with National Committee to Combat Viral Hepatitis (NCCVH) to review the country's efforts to control the spread of Hepatitis C, Al-Bawaba News reported. Relentless efforts have been invested in battling the disease. As there are 50 centers now across Egypt treat Hepatitis and have received more than 350,000 patients throughout the past six years. Treatment response has amounted to 93 percent, said NCCVH. The meeting came only 24 hours after the Ministry of Health has announced the release of two new hepatitis C drugs, Harvoni and Kiurevo, at the hepatitis treatment centers by next November.
