U.S.-led international coalition command announced that it launched 29 airstrikes against the Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq and Syria, Iraqi media outlets reported Monday. The command said that the coalition's warplanes conducted 21 airstrikes on IS strangleholds in a number of Iraqi cities, destroying fighting positions, tactical units, vehicles and weapons storage. It added that the other eight airstrikes were carried out on IS sites in three Syrian cities including Haskah. The coalition has launched its war against IS positions in Aug. 2014.
