Egyptian authorities will issue EGP60,000 worth of compensation for each of the families of those who died in a sunken boat on the Nile last week, Egypt's Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Waly said Saturday, Al-Bawaba News reported. At least 33 people drowned Wednesday when their party boat crashed into a cargo ship on the Nile near Al-Warraq district in Giza, the health ministry stated. Waly added that those injured will be compensated with 5,000 Egyptian pounds each, indicating that the cabinet increased the volume of compensation because of the exceptional circumstances of the incident.
