Leader of Jama'a Islamiya Tamarod movement said on Sunday President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi would not approve the death sentences against Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders to be carried out on Al Fitr Feast (17-19 July), Al Bawaba News reported. The president prefers to issue a presidential pardon, but the move was delayed in order not to be depicted by the MB group as a fruit of foreign pressure, coordinator of the movement Yasser Farawella said. Al Sisi well understands that a wide surge of terror would erupt if the sentences were carried out during the feast. Rumors were circulated on social media the regime would exploit the bombing of a building related to the Italian consulate in Cairo on Saturday to carry out the sentences during the feast.
