Egyptian security sources said at least one was killed and 2 others injured after a mortar shell had hit their car near Al Masura military check point in Rafia, northern Sinai, Al Bawaba News reported Saturday. The sources added the shell was targeting the military check point but hit the car accidentally. Injured people were transferred to hospital for treatment. The Sinai Peninsula has been witnessing deadly confrontations between security forces and Islamic terrorist groups since ousting the Egyptian ex-president Mohamed Morsi, July 2013.
