The new anti-terrorism draft law has been reviewed carefully by the Legislation Council Department and it was found entirely consistent with the 2014 Constitution, a high judicial source at the Council of State said Wednesday, Al-Bawaba News reported. The law does not affect press freedom, but it only prohibits spreading false news about terror attacks, the source asserted, indicating that the objection of the law by the Journalists' Syndicate lacks clear justification. He called on the Journalists' Syndicate to send their proposed amendments to the council for discussion.
