Cairo Criminal Court resumes Monday the case involving 23 jihadists in the case publicly known as Ansar al-Sharia (Partisans of Islamic Law), Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported. Late Top Prosecutor Hesham Barakat, had referred 17 of the defendants to the Cairo Criminal Court, past August, presided by Supreme State Security Prosecutor, Tamer Fergany. The defendants were charged for extremism, targeting Christians, and stirring chaos and violence against state institutions.
