The pro-Islamic State terrorist group, Wilayat Sinai announced Wednesday that it carried out 3 deadly attacks against 15 sites of Egyptian army in Sheikh Zuweid, North Sinai Governorate. In an official statement published on its Twitter account, Wilayat Sinai claimed responsibility for Wednesday's deadly attacks, killing 10 soldiers, according to the military spokesperson. "Simultaneous attack on 15 sites of apostate army of Egypt," Wilayat Sinai statement read, adding that the attack was carried out by guided and anti-aircraft missiles to confront the army planes and block the way before reinforcements reach the scene. The attacks targeted checkpoints in Sheikh Zuweid and the police station of the city, according to Wilayat Sinai statement, which claimed that it seized full control of some sites. Wilayat Sinai is the militant arm of Islamic State (IS) in Egypt, previously, Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, but it pledged allegiance to the leader of IS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on November 10, 2014, calling itself Wilayat Sinai (Province of Sinai).
