The Egyptian army killed Friday 10 IS-loyal Wilayat Sinai militants and injured 15 others in North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid city, Al Bawaba News reported. A security source said that the army had conducted a pre-emptive strike on Wilayat Sinai in Sheikh Zuweid to thwart attempts at attacking military sites on Sinai Liberation Day. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
