Security sources said they monitored coordination between jihadi elements and some Muslim Brotherhood (MB) affiliates to spread chaos coinciding with the second anniversary of the June 30 revolution, Al Bawaba News reported Saturday. The sources revealed that some jihadi elements, who joined extremist organizations in Syria and Iraq after the disperse of Rabia sit-in Aug. 2013, returned to form armored militias to carry out terrorist operations against the Egyptian regime. The MB provided jihadists with financial support for purchasing arms, training young cadres for street fighting and targeting officers to exhaust security forces, the sources added. The sources added that contacts between Islamic State (IS)-linked Beit Almakdes in Sinai and Ansar Alkhalifa in the Gaza strip confirmed that terrorist operations were being planned in Egypt.
