Total trade volume between Egypt and the West African Economic and Monetary Union "UEMOA" has reached $25.1 million during the first quarter of 2015, Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry announced Sunday. The ministry said in a report that exports from Egypt to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) were estimated to $24.16 million, while the imports reached nearly $0.845 million. The report added the intra-regional trade hit $158.64 million in 2015 compared to the 2014 trade volume which registered at $84.79 million. The Egyptian exports to UEMOA countries included jet fuel, vegetable extracts, medical equipment and calcium carbonate, while Egypt imported textile materials, ginned cotton, wood cocoa powder and dry coconut and fish from UEMOA.
